MILLSBORO, Del. - After dropping its first game of the day, the UAB Bowling team rattled off four consecutive wins to sit in fifth place after day one of the UMES Hawk Classic.
"After getting off to a very slow start this morning with a loss to Franklin Pierce, the girls rallied hard in a very strong field to go 4-1 on the day," head coach Michelle Crews said. "We have good momentum going into tomorrow but there is still work to be done as there are things we can improve on. We are in a great position heading into traditional games tomorrow."
In the first match of the day, UAB lost to Franklin Pierce, 864-829. The Blazers then defeated Norfolk State, St. Francis University, Coppin State and Sacred Heart in that order.
Play resumes tomorrow morning at 9:55 a.m. with three Traditional Games being played in the morning. After a break for lunch, play resumes at 12:55 p.m. with three more Traditional Games. All times are Eastern Standard Time.
