KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UAB men’s soccer team is ranked eighth in the latest edition of the NSCAA Southeast Regional Rankings. The Blazers have been regionally ranked for six straight weeks and currently stand 4-3-3 overall.
UAB remains in the top ten of the region as the Blazers have reached as high as fifth in the southeast this season.
Florida Gulf Coast paces the group for the second straight week with a 7-2-1 record and is followed by Kentucky (6-2-2), Charlotte (6-2-0), New Mexico (6-3-0), and South Carolina (7-3-0), in that order.
Hartwick (6-1-2) and North Florida (5-3-1) are the only other two teams ahead of UAB, ranking sixth and seventh, respectively.
Georgia State (6-5-0) slots just behind UAB in ninth while Lipscomb (5-4-1) rounds out the top ten.
The Blazers have a difficult schedule this week, hosting Santa Clara tonight and Kentucky on Saturday, October 7 at BBVA Compass Field. The Broncos (5-3-0) made the move from tenth to eighth in the Far West in this week’s regional poll while the Wildcats continue to climb the national rankings reaching No. 15 this week, their highest placement of the year.
