2015 Men's Soccer Signing Class
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB men's soccer has added defender Berry Sonnenschein to its 2015 recruiting class, head coach Mike Getman announced Tuesday.
"We are very excited to add Berry to what was already a fantastic recruiting class," Getman said. "Berry brings a very high level of experience to our team. He can play anywhere along the back line. I expect him to make an impact right away."
Sonnenschein is a transfer from Tilburg University, where he spent his last two years of study. A 6-foot-1 defender from Tilburg, Netherlands, he has been with Willem II of the Premier League since he was 16 years old.
He has played on the top youth teams at the club from the beginning, with his biggest accomplishment coming when he played in the final of the U19 KNVB Nike Cup (Royal Dutch Football Association). Sonnenschein also plays in the Reserve League for Willem II.
