Men's Golf Finishes 19th, Dunne To Compete As Individual

BRADENTON, Fla. -- With the conclusion of the third round Monday morning, the UAB men's golf team finished tied for 19th at the 2015 NCAA Championship and failed to make the cut for the final round of stroke play at The Concession Golf Club.
UAB posted a 54-hole score of 896 (+32) to earn its second-best finish in school history at the nationals, improving on last season's finish of 21st. The Blazers finished six strokes out of the cut for the top 15 teams to advance to the final round of stroke play. Georgia is leading the field at 3-over heading into the final round.
Senior Paul Dunne will continue play as he will compete for the individual championship to be determined by the 72-hole total. Dunne is currently in second place at 6-under, one stroke behind leader Bryson Dechambeau (-7). He is two strokes ahead of three players currently tied for third at 4-under.
The Greystones, Ireland native is one of nine individuals competing along with the top 15 teams. Dunne will tee off at 12:10 p.m. ET/11:10 a.m. CT from the first hole. He is paired with Cheng-Sun Pan of Washington and Riley Davenport of Charlotte.
Junior Martin Rohwer earned his career-best finish at the NCAA Championships, tying for 59th among the 156-player field. Rohwer carded a 223 (+7) over the three rounds. Fellow junior Will Cannon and freshmen Taylor Eyster and Lee Hodges each made their first appearances at nationals. Eyster finished 123rd with a total of 233 (+17), Hodges was 135th with a 235 (+19) and Cannon was 147th carding a 239 (+23).
The Golf Channel will begin with the Golf Central Pre Game segment set for 11 a.m.-12:30 a.m. ET. Then the final round, individual stroke play will air live from 12:30-4:30 p.m. ET (or until conclusion of play) and re-air from 5:30-9:30 p.m. ET on Monday.
