UAB Has 44 Student-Athletes Earn C-USA Academic Medal

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB had a school record 44 student-athletes earn the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal for the 2014-15 academic year, Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced Friday.
There are 14 different sports represented on the list, with 11 of those having multiple honorees. The women's soccer team led the way with seven student-athletes making the list. 
Women's golf added six, women's track and field/cross country had five, men's soccer and women's tennis each had four, while baseball, football and volleyball had three and men's basketball, sand volleyball and softball added two.
A total of 567 student-athletes across the conference earned the honor, which is give to those C-USA student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.
