BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB's baseball teams plays its final series at Regions Field this weekend when the Blazers host Marshall for a three-game set in Birmingham.
First pitch Friday is set for 4 p.m. at Regions. Saturday's middle game is slated for a 1 p.m. start, and UAB and Marshall will close the series Sunday at 12 p.m.
Sunday's game kicks off the Conference USA 11-game American Sports Network television package. It will be the first of one league game set to air on ASN every weekend.

Series History
UAB leads the all-time series, 19-12. The Blazers have won four-straight over the Thundering Herd, in a series that dates back to 2003.
The Green and Gold swept Marshall last season, claiming wins of 10-2, 3-2 and 5-2. The first meeting between the two squads came back on March 1, 2003, when the Blazers were victorious, 12-1.
Scouting The Opponent
Marshall enters the weekend C-USA series on a five-game losing skid. The Thundering Herd also enter the weekend 0-3 in league play, after being swept by UTSA last weekend.
Marshall is 2-6 away from home on the year, with the two road wins coming at Florida A&M earlier in the year. The Thundering Herd were picked to finish 10th according to the league's head coaches in the C-USA Preseason Poll.
Sergio Leon and Corey Bird lead the Marshall offense with 25 hits each. As a club Marshall has hit 12 home runs, led by three from TJ Diffenderfer. He also leads the team in RBI with 12, as Leon, Josh King and Bird all have 11 RBI each.
The Marshall pitching staff carries a 5.23 team ERA into the weekend. Matt Margaritonda, Friday's projected starter, is 0-2 on the year with a 7.45 ERA in 19.1 innings pitched. JD Hammer will start on Saturday, a RHP with a 3.29 ERA on the year in 27.1 IP. Michael Taylor is projected to start on Sunday, a RHP with a 2.92 ERA and 1-0 record in 12.1 IP.
Weekend Promotions
Kids' Days: Every Sunday admission is free for children eighth grade and under with a paid adult.
Church Bulletin Days: Every Sunday is $1 admission with a current church bulletin.
Saturday is UAB baseball's military day. The Blazers will salute the men and women of the Armed Forces and Birmingham-area First Responders, and will wear commemorative camouflage hats in recognition of the event.
