Rifle Concludes Competition At NRA Sectional

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The UAB rifle team competed at in the NRA Sectional held at the Inuoye Marksmanship Center on The Citadel's campus in Charleston, S.C. over the weekend.
UAB fired a team score of 2266 in the air rifle division. The Blazers finished with the fourth-highest score in just air rifle among the seven teams competing.
Freshman Sarah Grace Banks led the team with a 584, which was the third-best individual score of the weekend. She posted five scores of 97 or higher, including a 100 in the second round.
Fellow freshman Selina Curren finished with a 572, with five scores of 95 or better. Senior Mandy McGee added a 560, sophomore Ella Von Canon posted a 550, senior Lindsey Hill had a 547 and junior Tori Brown scored a 502 to complete the Blazer lineup.
UAB will have a week break before it returns to Charleston, S.C. for the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference Championship on Saturday, March 7.
