UAB Rifle Finishes Sixth At SEARC Championship

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The UAB rifle team concluded the 2014-15 season with a sixth place finish at the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) Championship on Saturday at the Inuoye Marksmanship Center on The Citadel's campus.
UAB posted an aggregate score of 2233 on the day, while NC State won its fourth consecutive title with a team score of 2326. North Georgia was second with a 2304, Wofford finished third with a 2284, The Citadel was fourth with 2276 and Georgia Southern was fifth with a 2248.
Two freshmen led the way for the Blazers in the final competition of the season. Freshman Selina Curren posted a team-high score of 576 with three rounds of 97 on the day. Fellow freshman Sarah Grace Banks capped off her solid year with a 574.
Senior Mandy McGee posted a score of 554, sophomore Ella Von Canon recorded a 529, senior Lindsey Hill scored a 517, senior Margaret Lueck finished with a 515 and junior Tori Brown rounded out the scores with a 500.
