Rifle Defeats Wofford In Dual Match

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The UAB rifle team defeated Wofford by one point to earn a victory in its first dual match of the season in air rifle competition.
UAB posted an aggregate score of 2233 to edge Wofford's 2232. Each team counted five scores for the match.
Freshman Sarah Grace Banks has been a steady leader for the Blazers in the last three matches. She recorded the highest score of the day with a 584 to be the top individual finisher. Banks shot over 96 on all six targets.
Fellow freshman Selina Curren finished second for the Blazers and had the third highest score of the day with a 561 and senior Mandy McGee finished fourth overall with a 560.
Also competing for UAB was junior Margaret Lueck who scored a 528 and sophomore Ella Von Canon added a 509 to round out Blazers lineup. Senior Lindsey Hill recorded a 539 as an individual.
UAB will again this Friday as it travels to Charleston, S.C. to take on The Citadel.
