Blazers Finish Fall Season in Third Place

PRINCEVILLE, Kaua'i - The UAB men's golf fall season has come to an end with The Green and Gold finishing The Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational in third place. UAB finished with a team score of 836 after posting rounds of 287-268-281 (-28) at the 54-hole event.
Tim Harry led the Blazers, posting rounds of 68-67-69 (-12) to finish in solo third place, one shot behind Tom Lovelady in second place. Cameron Young of Wake Forest won the individual competition by two strokes at 201 (-15).
"It was a really strong tournament for Tim," said UAB head coach Alan Murray. "I'm very happy and proud of his efforts."
Sophomore Lee Hodges turned in a 1-under 71 on the day to finish tied for ninth at 7-under 209 for the tournament. Martin Rohwer tied for 14th at 5-under 211, after shooting 1-under 71 in his final round. He was followed by Taylor Eyster who tied for 36th at 5-under 217, following a final-round 3-over 75. Will Cannon bounced back on Wednesday to card a 2-under 70 to jump into a tie for 62nd.
"Lee Hodges continues to be a really solid performer for the team and is becoming a very fine collegiate player," said Murray. "Will Cannon really showed his maturity in bouncing back with a 2-under 70."
Alabama (-40) won the tournament by five strokes over Wake Forest (-35).
"We played with two strong teams today in Alabama and Wake Forest," Murray added. "We made too many mistakes to be able to beat them this week but I think our guys will be encouraged by their efforts and see that we are improving all the time. We will go into the off-season now and work on some things before beginning our spring season at the Gator Invitational in February."
