Chelsee Black Named To Cancun Challenge All-Tourney Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB senior guard Chelsee Black, who scored in double-figures in back-to-back games on Thursday and Friday, was named to the 2015 Cancun Challenge Mayan Division All-Tournament Team, the tournament committee announced Sunday.
Black, who averaged 13.5 points per game during the tournament also tallied three total assists and five rebounds as the Blazers finished the event 1-1 after a win over High Point and a loss to North Carolina State.
The Bessemer, Ala. native, has led the Blazers in scoring in four games this year. During the event she connected on nine field goals, knocked down four shots from beyond the arc and was a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line.
Joining Black on the All-Tournament team is Northern Iowa’s Madison Weekly, NC State’s Miah Spencer, Georgia Tech’s Aaliyah Whiteside and High Point’s Kaylah Keys. The Most Valuable Player was Tabatha Richardson-Smith from Seton Hall.
