Men's Golf in Sixth After Opening Round

PRINCEVILLE, Kaua'i - The UAB men's golf team is in sixth place after round one of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational Monday. The Blazers head into day two with a 1-under 287, and are poised to make a run on Tuesday.
No. 3 Wake Forest and No. 21 Alabama currently occupy the top two spots on the leaderboard after the opening round. Wake Forest is in first at 10-under 278 and Alabama is in second at 7-under 281. Cameron Young of Wake Forest leads the individual competition after carding a 6-under 66 to lead by two shots over a group of players at 4-under.
Tim Harry leads the Blazers heading into Tuesday's round at Princeville Makai Golf Club. The freshman is tied for second with a 4-under 68. Harry turned in five birdies, along with a lone bogey, in his opening round and is in great position heading into moving day.
Lee Hodges, coming off a victory at The Shoal Creek Invitational Hosted by Graeme McDowell, fired a 2-under 70 to sit in a tie for eighth. Senior Martin Rohwer is just inside the top-25 following a solid level-par 72.
Taylor Eyster, started his round 4-under through the opening eight holes, but cooled off on the back nine to settle for a 5-over 77 and is in a tie for 68th. Will Cannon carded a 7-over 79 on the day and is in 83rd place.
