Student-Athlete Of The Week: Miranda Burroughs

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Miranda Burroughs of the UAB women’s basketball team was named the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced on Thursday. The Student-Athlete of the Week recognizes student-athletes who excel on and off their respective fields of competition.
The Poplar Bluff, Mo. native currently leads Conference USA and ranks 14th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage, shooting 46.7 percent from behind the arc this season. She has hit 28-of-60 shots through the first 12 games and has made at least one 3-point basket in 10 games.
In the classroom, Burroughs has maintained a 3.64 GPA at UAB majoring in early childhood education. She was also named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll following her junior season last year after transferring to UAB from Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Ill. Burroughs and the Blazers return to the court Thursday vs. Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Fla.
