Women's Sweet 16 Team Recognition Highlights Saturday Event

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - This Saturday's UAB women's basketball game against Southern Miss will feature a halftime recognition for the 1999-2000 NCAA Sweet 16 Team as well as the first Belles and Whistles event of 2015.
Belles and Whistles, a group dedicated to supporting UAB women's athletics, will host its first event of 2015 on Saturday when the Blazers host Southern Miss at 2 p.m. CT.
Those interested in attending can enjoy a pre-game meal in the Green and Gold room beginning at 1 p.m., along with a chalk talk by a member of the UAB women's basketball coaching staff.
Any 2014 or 2015 Blazer Boosters member is welcome to RSVP to jklynch@uab.edu by January 16 to reserve free hospitality access for you and a guest. Fans will also have the chance to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the 1999-2000 women's basketball team that advanced to the Sweet 16 after defeating three-straight top-25 ranked teams in the NCAA Tournament. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive free t-shirts at the game.
