BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Members of the UAB women’s soccer team will sit down with UABSports.com throughout the 2014 season to conduct Q&A’s. Check back with UABSports.com weekly for different features as the season progresses.
Today's Q&A features freshman Alex Otto, a native of Hinsdale, Ill. Below Otto talks about her time in Birmingham and much more.
If you did not play soccer, what sport would you play?
“Sand volleyball is a lot of fun. I'm not very good, but I would love playing it if I couldn't play soccer.”
What are your plans after you finish up at UAB?
“I hope to go to graduate school to become a physical therapist. I know I want to stay involved in sports in some way as well. “
Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
“My younger sister and I have always played together and both hoped to play in college. She has helped me when I'm not where I want to be and is always willing to play pickup.”
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
“I would love to travel to Germany because my dad and his parents lived there when he was younger. I love German food and I want to go skiing in the alps!”
What is one thing people do not know about you?
“My parents taught me to ski as soon as I could walk. My family goes skiing in Colorado almost every winter.”
