TROY, Ala. - The UAB women's soccer team (2-5) took an early 1-0 lead over Troy, but gave up two second half goals to the Trojans to drop a 2-1 decision at the Troy Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon.
"We came out strong, scored a goal, hit the post, hit the crossbar, but it was still 1-0 at half," head coach Harold Warren said. "In the second half, Troy wanted it more and out worked us. They deserved the win."
Paige Hanks found the net in the 14th minute giving UAB a lead that would stay all the way up until the halftime break. Troy answered in the 52nd minute when Jasmine Fahrnbauer scored on an Alissa Jones assist. The Trojans added their second goal in the 83rd minute to seal the 2-1 win.
