UAB Athletics Announces Green And Gold Bandwagon Tour Plans

Aug. 1, 2014 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- With the UAB football team reporting for preseason practice this weekend and starting practice on Monday, the Blazers' marketing staff and spirit groups will hit the streets all of next week to spread the word about the start of the new season on the Southside.

The Green and Gold Bandwagon Tour will start Monday and continue throughout the week in numerous Birmingham locations. Posters, schedule cards and other information for the 2014 season will be available as the Blazers get geared up for their first season under new head coach Bill Clark. Cheerleaders, Golden Girls and Blaze willalso be on hand to greet fans and assist with the efforts.

The tour stops are scheduled from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. each day next week.

"We are excited to gear up for the 2014 football season," said Jen Kost, UAB's Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing. "We encourage Birmingham to support the Blazers as we kick off the season at home on Saturday, August 30 against Troy at 11 am. We hope fans and businesses will proudly show their UAB spirit as we make our way around the Birmingham area."
