Statement From UAB Interim AD Shannon James Ealy

These have been difficult times for all of us. We are especially sensitive to all of our student-athletes and coaches as they endure these trying circumstances. We understand the disappointment regarding the recent decision to discontinue our football, bowling and rifle programs and the hurt felt by everyone who believed in UAB Athletics and share that pain with you.
Our Blazer family is committed to working hard and to do everything we can to ensure that we become even stronger. We are determined to be resilient and be the very best that we can be while pursuing excellence. We will do our best to honor and respect those founding fathers and individuals who came before us to serve and build this athletics program and those who so proudly wear the green and gold.
There is much work to be done. In the meantime, please know that your support of the Blazers is ever so valued.
