Student-Athlete Of The Week: Bianca Dufelmeier

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Redshirt junior Bianca Dufelmeier of the UAB women's basketball team was named the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced on Monday. The Student-Athlete of the Week recognizes student-athletes who excel on and off their respective fields of competition.
After redshirting during the 2013-14 season, Dufelmeier made her first appearance as a Blazer in the season opener at Florida State. The Canberra, Australia native has played in all six games for UAB this season averaging 4.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
She is coming off one of her best performances of the season after totaling seven boards to go with six points in the Blazers' 69-65 overtime win over UC Irvine on Saturday to close the week-long road trip.
In the classroom, Dufelmeier has maintained a 3.57 GPA at UAB majoring in communications studies. The Blazers return to the court on Saturday at Samford in a 12:30 p.m. CT tip.
