Blazers Eye Opportunity In Final Four Regular Season Games

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- Standing at an even 4-4 overall and 2-2 in Conference USA action with four league games remaining, head coach Bill Clark and the UAB football team look to seize their opportunities as they get set for the final stretch of the 2014 regular season.
On Monday, Clark and the Blazers began preparations for their season-ending run, which begins with a trip to Boca Raton, Fla., and a matchup with Florida Atlantic on Saturday.
Through eight games this season, the Blazers still have plenty of goals in reach. According to Clark, his team is looking to make the most of the upcoming four-game stretch.
"That's one of the things we have talked about since we have been here," Clark said. "We are going to be honest with our players. We are going to tell them what our opportunities are and also how good our conference is. We haven't lied to them yet and there are plenty of opportunities for us ahead."
UAB turned its focus to the upcoming league game at FAU immediately following last week's contest against Southeastern Conference foe Arkansas. So far, Clark says his team has done a great job of putting the past behind them.
"We told them before that game pretty much what it would look like," Clark said. "It was going to be a tough one to win, but as soon as the game was over, we were getting ready for FAU. We are in the middle of conference play, we have been playing well in our conference and that is what it is going to take to be successful."
FAU and UAB kick off at 6 p.m. CT at FAU Stadium on Saturday. The game will be televised by the American Sports Network (ASN) with Ron Thulin (play-by-play) and Keith Moreland (analyst) on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on the Blazer IMG Sports Network with David Crane (play-by-play), Steve Irvine (analyst) and Sam Miller (sideline) calling the action. Fans can listen to the game locally on WUHT-FM 107.7.
