BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Sophomore Kimberly Fincher of the UAB women's soccer team was named the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced on Monday. The Student-Athlete of the Week recognizes student-athletes who excel on and off their respective fields of competition.
The Lawrenceville, Ga. native is in her second year with the women's soccer team under head coach Harold Warren. She has an overall GPA of 3.40 majoring in health related programs and was named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and earned the league's Academic Medal last season.
Fincher has totaled four goals this season, second best on the team, and has nine in her young UAB career. She has scored all four in the last six games, including a two-goal performance in UAB's 5-0 win over UTSA on Sept. 26.
Fincher and the Blazers return to action this weekend with a C-USA road trip to Marshall on Friday and Western Kentucky on Sunday.
