Men's Golf's Sutton Named SAOW

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Redshirt senior men's golfer Thomas Sutton is the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week. It marked the third time he has earned this distinction in his collegiate career.
The Blazers will host their annual home tournament, the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by Graeme McDowell, from Monday, Sept. 30 - Tuesday, Oct. 1. Sutton, this year's captain, will look to lead the Green and Gold at the Shoal Creek Golf and Country Club.
In the team's first event, the Topy Cup, Sutton finished in a tie for 10th place individually. Sutton recorded a 208 (-2) for the three-round event.
Sutton has excelled off the course, as well. The accounting major owns a 3.32 GPA.
