Former Blazer Wilcox Shoots 59 On Web.com Tour

SANDY, Utah ----- Former UAB golfer Will Wilcox tied a Web.com Tour record by firing a 59 Sunday on the final day of play at the Utah Championship.
Wilcox, who played for the Blazers in 2005, blistered the Willow Creek CC course with the fourth 59 score in tour history.
Trailing by 10 strokes and in 38th place entering the final day, Wilcox roared back with his final day score to finish at 21-under par. He finished in a tie for third place, one stroke out of a playoff. Steven Alker won the tournament and the first place prize.
Wilcox had rounds of 68-65-71-59 in the four-day event.
Wilcox is having a sensational season on the Web.com Tour. He is currently listed at No. 6 on the money list for the season.
Wilcox finished his collegiate career at Clayton State in Georgia where he was a three-time NCAA Division II All-American.
