UAB Has 29 Student-Athletes Earn C-USA Academic Medal

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — UAB had 29 student-athletes earn the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal for the 2012-13 academic year, it was announced on Friday.
Twelve different sports are represented on the list, with eight teams having multiple honorees. The women's track and field team had the most with five student-athletes earning academic medals, while baseball had four and football, women's golf, women's soccer and women's tennis each had three.
A total of 538 student-athletes from around the league earned the honor, which is given to those C-USA student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher.
