Woods Named UAB Student Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — UAB sand volleyball player Alison Woods has been named the Student Athlete of the Week for achievements in the classroom and on the sand.
Woods, a native of Franklin, Tenn., boasts a 3.53 GPA in business with an emphasis in industrial distribution. The junior has also twice placed on the Conference USA’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll during her time on campus.
Paired with teammate Sam Serley, Woods holds a 9-7 record for the year, playing mostly in the No. 3 flight in sand volleyball. This past week, Woods helped UAB stop North Florida’s 10-match win streak with a 11-21, 21-17, 15-8, win against the Ospreys on Saturday.
Woods and the UAB sand volleyball team next travel to the Florida State Tournament on April 20-21, before the AVCA Nationals on May 3-5.
