BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB women's soccer team will play host to Tulsa and North Texas this weekend for the Blazers' final two home matches of 2013. Friday night will mark senior night in a match slated for 7:30 p.m. at West Campus Field, while Sunday's tilt with North Texas is set to begin at 1 p.m.

"The girls have done fairly well and have especially grown from last season," head coach Harold Warren said. "I'm happy for them to get up to 10 wins thus far. We've been preparing for these two teams; they are both very good teams. I think we're prepared and ready to go. For us, we do what we do on a daily basis and we should be fine, but it's definitely going to be a tough task against these two teams because they are quality."

UAB will recognize its six seniors following the completion of the match with the Golden Hurricane. The Blazers' six seniors include Amy Harrison, Sam Bradford, Kirsten Ebert, Erin Pimcombe, Abby Phillips and Jasmine Kauka.

"These ladies have been with me since day one, except for Amy Harrison who came here a year later," Warren said. "They were with us throughout the tough times the last two years. We are much better this year and a big part of that is them with their leadership and their ability and they've helped us grow the team. They've done a great job in the classroom, off the field, on the field and all around. It's going to be really sad to see them go, especially six of them."

The Green and Gold head into Friday's contest coming off a 2-0 win at Old Dominion on Sunday. The Blazers picked up their 10th win in that match, to record the first 10-win season for the program since 2009.

        In the Hunt
UAB is currently in a tie for third place in the Conference USA East Division. The Blazers have 10 points thus far, tied with Marshall, with just one Conference USA game remaining following this weekend's matches (Oct. 31 at FAU).

        Aiming for Houston
UAB is aiming to play in the Conference USA Tournament for the first time since 2009. The top 10 teams in the league, top five from each division, are invited to the conference tournament in Houston, Texas.

In its history, the UAB women's soccer team has won the conference tournament title twice. The Blazers took home the title in 2004 and 2006.
