MURFREESBORO, Tenn. ---- The UAB volleyball team fell to Middle Tennessee, 3-0 (18-25, 21-25, 18-25) on Friday night in the Blazers’ second match of Blue Raider Bash.
UAB (0-2) returns to the court on Saturday, taking on UC Davis at 10 a.m. CT and Furman at 3 p.m. CT
The Blazers struggled to be consistent on offense, hitting only .091 as a club. Sam Serley was a bright spot on the attacking side, hitting .471, connecting for eight kills on 17 attacks without committing an error. She also added five blocks (three solo, two assists).
On defense, Rachel Fairbanks continued where she left from earlier in the day, recording 17 digs in the night cap. For the day, Fairbanks totaled 47 digs in eight sets of game action.
MTSU (1-1) sported a pair of hitters with double-digit kill totals, led by Chelsea’s Ross match-high 12 kills. Ashley Adams pitched in with 10 kills of her own.
