Spring Football Game, Blazer FanFest Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The 2012 Blazer FanFest, highlighted by the first Spring Football Game under head coach Garrick McGee and his coaching staff, will be held on Saturday, April 21.
McGee has opened all of the Blazers' spring practices the past several weeks, but Saturday's spring game will be the first full-scale preview of the 2012 season for UAB fans and supporters to see.
The spring game begins at Noon at West Campus Field. The Blazer FanFest activities will start at 9 a.m. with tailgate spots opening at 7 a.m.
ADMISSION IS FREE
• Admission to both the football game and UAB's Saturday baseball game vs. Gardner-Webb are free.
PARKING AND TENT INFORMATION FOR TAILGATING
• Tailgate spots are free and open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 7 a.m. "Tent City" will be located in the parking lot adjacent to the UAB Sand Volleyball Courts.
• Vehicles will not be allowed to park inside "Tent City" (Lot 15F/7). Fans can park for free in Lot 15F which directly across from "Tent City".
• Spaces for "Tent City" are available in tent sizes 10' x 10'. Please call Brad Smith at 205-934-1239 for any special arrangements.
BLAZER FANFEST EVENTS
• The live music performance of The BeatLads, a Beatles tribute band, will start at 9 a.m.
• Inflatables for the kids, face painting, a balloon artist, as well as concessions being available will all start at 9 a.m.
• Autographs and Photos: Fans are welcome to go onto the field to get autographs and photos with the Blazer football players and coaches following the spring game. Free autograph cards and roster cards will be available in "Tent City" and at the main entrance to West Campus Field.
2012 FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS ON SALE
• Football season tickets for the 2012 season will be on sale at a ticket location inside Tent City and at the ticket booth at the main entrance of West Campus Field.
UAB BASEBALL SATURDAY AFTERNOON
• Blazer fans are invited to make it a football and baseball day on Saturday. The UAB baseball team will play host to Gardner-Webb at 2 p.m. at Young Memorial Field in the second game of the three-game series with the Runnin' Bulldogs.
