2012 Blazer FanFest Coming Saturday, April 21

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- UAB students and fans should make their plans to attend the 2012 Blazer FanFest coming up on Saturday, April 21.
The Blazers' spring football game at West Campus Field will highlight the FanFest, but there will be plenty of other family entertainment as part of the event. The Blazer FanFest will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the spring game slated to start at Noon.
Fans are encouraged to set up their tents and tailgate at the Spring Game in "Tent City" which will be located in the parking lot adjacent to the UAB Sand Volleyball Courts. The tailgate spots are free and open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 7:00 a.m.
Vehicles will not be allowed to park inside "Tent City" (Lot 15F/7). Fans can park for free in Lot 15F which is directly across the street from "Tent City". Spaces inside "Tent City" are available for tent sizes 10' x 10' but if larger tents are required, please call Brad Smith at 205-934-1239 and arrangements to add your tent by Thursday, April 19th will be made.
Another attraction at Blazer FanFest will be the live music performance of The BeatLads, a Beatles tribute band. The BeatLads show will start at 9:00 a.m.
The FanFest will also feature inflatables for the kids, face painting, a balloon artist, as well as concessions being available.
Following the spring football game, fans are welcome to go onto the field to get autographs and photos with the Blazer football players and coaches. FanFest will then continue with the UAB baseball team competing against Gardner-Webb at 2:00 p.m. at Young Memorial Field.

7:00 a.m. - Tent City Opens (Lot 15F/7 - next to UAB Sand Volleyball courts)

9:00 a.m. - Blazer FanFest begins

9:00 a.m. - Inflatables, face painting and balloon artist opens 

9:00 a.m. - Noon - BeatLads (Beatles tribute band) Show Begins

Noon - UAB Spring Football Game begins (West Campus Field)

2:00 p.m. - Baseball vs. Gardner-Webb (Young Memorial Field)
