Ritter Leads, as the Blazers Continue the UC Spring Invite

Crystal River, Fla. - UAB junior Jaime Ritter continued her success during the second day of this 3-day University of Cincinnati Spring Invitational tied for fourteenth place. The Blazers as a team are also tied for fourteenth place with a score of 638 after they garnered a stroke count of 322 in round two of the tournament Saturday.
Following the early shotgun start Saturday at the Plantation Golf Resort in Crystal River, Fla., UAB continued their quest to gain ground on the teams sitting above them on the leaderboard. Florida International resides in first place at the conclusion of two days, with a team score of 584.
Shelby Coyle, from Florida International, sits atop the leaderboard after posting a two-round stroke count of 141.
UAB sophomore Caitlin Watts finished round two with an overall score of 159 in the tournament. Freshman Margaret Yeh concluded day two with a stroke count of 160. Junior Lindsey Gipson and freshman Holly Robinson each ended the second day of the tournament with a overall score of 170.
"We struggled somewhat today," said Coach Kim Wilcox, "but we are looking forward to playing well tomorrow. I am pleased that Jaime (Ritter) is having a good tournament."
This tournament will showcase its final round of play Sunday morning, beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
