BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB women's tennis team is on the road for three matches in three days this weekend in the Eastern time zone.
The Blazers (3-4) visit Presbyterian on Friday (3 p.m. ET), Gardner-Webb on Saturday (1:30 p.m. ET) and Wofford on Sunday (11 a.m. ET) on their swing through the Carolinas.
UAB is riding its first winning streak of the young season after posting a pair of victories in Birmingham last weekend. The Blazers defeated North Alabama and UTSA, both by 5-2 scores. The matches followed similar scripts with UAB winning the doubles point and controlling the middle of the singles lineup.
Rachel Daniell (No. 3), Menanteau Moolman (No. 4) and Caroline Faught (No. 5) each went 2-0 in singles action last week. Faught lost just five total games over her two matches, while Daniell and Moolman also teamed to win doubles contests each day.
Presbyterian (2-6) won its most recent outing last Sunday with a 6-1 victory over Western Carolina. Patricia Alves has managed the team's best singles record, going 6-2 so far this spring between the No. 4 and No. 5 spots in the lineup.
Gardner-Webb (3-4) suffered a 4-3 loss to Radford last weekend and then had a midweek match postponed. UAB will be the second Conference USA opponent this season for the Bulldogs, which posted a 4-3 win over East Carolina two weeks ago. GWU will play Brevard College on Friday before hosting UAB.
Wofford (3-4) enters the weekend on a four-match losing streak after falling to Charlotte by a 5-2 score Thursday. Othilia Lindqvist owns the team's top singles record at 4-3 this spring.
