BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The UAB baseball team is asking for fans to help the squad prepare for the season-opening series at Clemson by making noise at the team’s intrasquad scrimmages at Young Memorial Field on Friday and Saturday.
Doug Kingsmore Stadium, home of the Tigers, can be an extremely loud and challenging venue for opponents. Since being built in 1970, Clemson has won over 80 percent of its home games, posting a record of 1,023-250.
The intrasquad scrimmages will take place Friday, Feb. 10 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 11 from noon to 4 p.m. Both scrimmages will be played at Young Memorial Field and are free to the public.
Take the opportunity to check out the Blazers on the diamond and bring your voice to prepare the Green and Gold for its first series of the 2012 season.
The Blazers open the season at Clemson with a three-game series starting Friday, Feb. 17 at 4 p.m. ET.
