David Zimmerman Named Student-Athlete of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- David Zimmerman, a junior on the Blazers' men's tennis team, has been selected as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
The business management major has a 3.35 grade point average and was named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2011.
A native of Waldronn, Germany, Zimmerman enrolled at UAB in January, 2010 and earned second-team All-Conference USA honors after his first season that spring. Zimmerman has been a regular at the top of UAB's lineup since his arrival.
Zimmerman and his UAB teammates are off to a 5-1 start this season. The Blazers will be in action again Sunday, Feb. 19 when they travel to Nashville, Tenn. to take on No. 43 Vanderbilt.
