Best Start Since 1994-95
• The Blazers are off to their best start since the 1994-95 season. UAB is currently 6-1 on the year, while the 1994-95 squad went 8-1 to begin the season. That team went on to finish 19-9 overall.
UAB vs. SWAC
• UAB has faced four teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference this season, holding a 4-0 record against those teams. The Blazers are averaging 72 points per game against those schools, while holding their SWAC opponents to an average of 42 points per contest.
Record-Setting Performance
• UAB held Arkansas-Pine Bluff to just 17-percent shooting for the game in a 71-25 win on Nov. 19. The Lions' 25 points were the fewest scored against a Blazer team in school history. The previous low was a 31-point performance by South Alabama on Nov. 26, 1996.
Six Games in Double Figures for Jones
• Senior guard Amber Jones has scored in double figures in all but one game so far this season. Her season high point total came against Alabama A&M on Nov. 12, when she scored 23 points -- two shy of her career high. Jones is leading the team with a 14.3 points per game average.
Jones, Chapman in Double Figures
• Senior guard Amber Jones and junior forward Karisma Chapman hold a double-figure scoring average for the season. Jones paces the Blazers with a 14.3 points per game average, while Chapman has scored 13.9 points per contest.
Stellar Defense
