BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-- UAB women's soccer junior Kirsten Ebert was named UAB Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance both in the classroom and on the soccer field.

Ebert, who is majoring in communications and maintains a GPA of 3.90 was named to the Conference USA All-All Academic First Team following the 2012 campaign. In previous seasons, she had been named a C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree and Academic Medal recipient.

The Suwanee, Ga., native made 17 starts in 18 appearances, logged 1,503 minutes on the pitch, and recorded a goal in the match against Rice (Oct. 14).

The Blazers have had six student-athletes named to the Conference USA All-Academic team over the last three years.
