BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--The UAB football team practiced for roughly two hours in full pads on Tuesday at the campus practice facilities.
Correcting defensive mistakes will be a crucial focal point this week, head coach Garrick McGee emphasized as the Blazers prepare for Saturday's Conference USA matchup at Southern Miss.
"When you're coaching football at this level, when there are technique flaws, or scheme flaws, they're supposed to get fixed," McGee said. "When you're coaching at the Division I-A level, you should be able to fix them, and I think they can be fixed."
The Blazers (1-7, 0-4 C-USA) are preparing for their second road game in as many weeks, this time in Hattiesburg, Miss., to take on Southern Miss (0-8, 0-4 C-USA) on Saturday. The matchup will be aired on CSS with a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff.
