Women's Soccer Preps For Finale

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--The UAB women's soccer team will close out the 2012 season at West Campus Field on Thursday night, hosting Conference USA foe Memphis at 7 p.m. CT. Prior to the match, senior Emma Jane Smithwill be recognized for her career at UAB.
LAST TIME OUT Last week, UAB (2-16, 1-9 C-USA) embarked on its final road match of the season, playing at SMU and Tulsa.
In the 3-1 loss to the Mustangs, freshman Paige Hanks led the squad with three shot attempts and one goal and junior Sam Bradfordwas credited with the assist.
Sophomore Johanna Lineyled the Blazers with three shot attempts, two on goal, in the 2-0 loss to Tulsa. Liney leads the team with 39 shot attempts on the season, six goals, three assists and 15 points.
ABOUT THE TIGERS Memphis (9-7-1, 5-4-1 C-USA) was on the road last week, and came out with a 3-0 loss to Tulsa before battling SMU to a 1-1 tie. Freshman Christi Padgett scored the Tiger goal in the 52nd minute of action off a cross from junior Christabel Oduro. Oduro leads Memphis with 11 goals scored and eight assists for 30 points on the season.
