Women's Soccer Drops Match At Tulsa

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Despite taking a 14-7 shot advantage, the UAB women's soccer team was unable to find the back of the net on Sunday, and lost to Tulsa, 2-0.
Sophomore Johanna Liney led UAB (2-16, 1-9 C-USA) in shot attempts with three, two on goal. Junior Amy Harrison and freshman Paige Hoffman added two on-goal attempts apiece for the match.
Tulsa (10-5-3, 5-3-2 C-USA) scored its first goal in the 16th minute when Rebecca Handley took a successful shot from three yards out. The second goal came in the 68th minute when Alexa Sidorakis took a feed from teammate Claire Hulcer.
Up next, UAB returns to West Campus Field to host Memphis on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT. Prior to the match, senior Emma Jane Smith will be honored for her career with the Blazers.
