BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- UAB right-handed pitcher Dillon Napoleon was selected to the Preseason All-Conference USA Team, announced by the league office on Thursday.
Napoleon was one of 15 student-athletes named to the preseason all-league squad and the senior was one of just four pitchers selected.
In 2011, Napoleon earned C-USA Newcomer of the Year, the first in Blazer history, after transferring from Heartland C.C., located in Normal, Ill. He was also named a second-team all-league selection.
In his first season with the Blazers, Napoleon finished with a record of 5-3 and 2.87 ERA in 84.2 innings of work. The righty collected 56 strikeouts and allowed just 70 hits, while holding opponents to a .230 batting average.
