TaRonda Randall Named Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- TaRonda Randall of the Blazer women's basketball team has been named the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
Randall, a senior center from Greenville, Ala., is a three-time member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and a three-time recipient of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal.
A political science major, she managed a perfect 4.0 GPA during the recent fall semester and owns a cumulative GPA of 3.82.
Randall has started 11 games for the Blazers this season, helping them to one of the best starts in school history at 11-3. She averages 3.8 rebounds per game and is second on the team with 1.3 blocks per contest for a UAB squad that ranks fourth in the nation in scoring defense.
The UAB women's basketball team is off to a 2-0 start in conference play and returns to the court Thursday with a 7 p.m. CT tipoff against UCF at Bartow Arena.
