UAB Hits The Road For A Pair Of Games

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB women's soccer team hits the road for a pair of games this weekend beginning in Tuscaloosa, Ala. where the Blazers will take on rival Alabama on Friday for a 7 p.m. CT matchup. UAB concludes the weekend on Sunday at Kennesaw State with an 11 a.m. CT. kickoff.
The Blazers (2-3) split two games last weekend, edging Belmont 3-2 in overtime on Friday, before dropping a 4-0 decision to then No. 7 Florida State on Sunday.
Senior Pascale Pinard leads the Blazers with two goals, including one game-winning goal. The Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada native has tallied 11 shots, five on frame - both team highs.
Alabama (3-2-1) went 1-1 last weekend in San Diego, Calif. The Tide fell to San Diego, 2-0, on Friday before downing No. 22 San Diego State, 1-0, on Sunday.
UAB leads the all-time series against Alabama, 7-3-1. The teams' last meeting resulted in a loss for UAB, 1-0, on Aug. 22, 2010.
Kennesaw State (3-3) will face UAB in the middle of a six-game home stretch. The Owls split a pair of games on the weekend, dropping a 4-1 decision to Samford on Friday, followed by a 2-0 victory against Clayton State on Saturday.
The Blazers trail the Owls in the all-times series, 2-0.
