Blazers Wrap Up Non-Conference Action Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB women's soccer team will host the Ole Miss Rebels at West Campus Field on Saturday in both teams' final non-conference game of the season. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. CT.
The Blazers slipped to 2-5 overall, dropping two games on the road last weekend at Alabama, 1-0, and Kennesaw State, 4-1. Senior Pascale Pinard leads the Blazers with two goals and 15 shots, six on frame. Playing in only the third home game of the season this weekend, the Blazers are 1-1 at West Campus Field.
Ole Miss (4-2-1) travels to Birmingham after gaining a 6-1 victory against The Citadel on Monday. Sophomore Rafaelle Souza leads the Rebels in scoring with six goals and in points (15). The Rebels hold a 1-1 record on the road.
UAB leads the all-time series against Ole Miss, 3-2. The Blazers topped the Rebels, 3-1, in the last meeting, which was Aug. 29, 2010 in Oxford, Miss. Then junior Tiffini Turpin scored the game-winning goal and her first of the 2010 season.
