2011 C-USA Championship Final Results
GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The UAB women's golf team concluded the season at the 2011 Conference USA Championship at the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club. The Blazers recorded a team score of 320 in the final round to finish 10th with a 54-hole total of 960.
"It was a tough course, but we competed hard," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "I'm proud of this team, and especially proud of the seniors. I'm sad to see them go."
UTEP took home the team title after registering a 300 in the third round for a total of 904. Tulsa's 296 in the final round matched the lowest round of the tournament and gave the Golden Hurricane second place with a total of 906. Tulane finished one stroke behind Tulsa at 907 after shooting a 300 on the final day.
UTEP's Teresa Nogues earned medalist honors, carding a 72 on the final day to finish with a 54-hole total of 218. Nogues finished two strokes ahead of Memphis' Marissa Steen, who shot a 73 on the final day for a score of 220. Tulsa's Marita Engzelius and Tulane's Meghan Chapman tied for third with a total of 221.
Jaime Brabb improved her score on the final day, shooting a 76 to finish 28th with a 54-hole total of 233. Jaime Ritter finished with an 80 in round three for a total of 240 to tie for 36th, while Carolyn Cochran and Ana Martin each recorded an 82 on the final day. Cochran registered a 243 total and Martin finished with a 250.
