BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Saturday's baseball game between UAB and Cleveland State has been cancelled because of wet field conditions and the forecast for more inclement weather.
Birmingham received approximately 3/4 of an inch of rain overnight, and Saturday's forecast calls for heavy rain and high winds for most of the afternoon.
The teams will now complete their weekend series with a single game on Sunday at noon CT. That game has been moved to Sammy Dunn Field at Vestavia Hills High School, which has an artificial turf playing surface.
The school is located at 2235 Lime Rock Road in Vestavia Hills, Ala. Admission to Sunday's game will be free.
Fans can follow Sunday's action through Gametracker live stats at uabsports.com, but All-Access steaming video will not be available because of the change in location.
UAB (7-3) won both games of a doubleheader against Cleveland State (2-6) to open the series on Friday as the Blazers ran their winning streak to six games.
