BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Dillon Napoleon struck out 11 batters in seven innings as the UAB baseball team opened Friday's doubleheader with a 10-5 win over Cleveland State.
Patrick Palmeiro went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs for the Blazers. The third baseman hit his second home run of the season as UAB won its fifth consecutive game.
UAB (6-3) and Cleveland State (2-5) are back in action now, playing game two of the doubleheader at Young Memorial Field. Check back later for a complete recap of all the day's action.
