Chapman Earns C-USA Freshman of the Week Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB freshman forward Karisma Chapman earned Conference USA Freshman of the Week honors after averaging 15.0 points in UAB's two games last week. It marks the first weekly honor this season for the Blazers and the first of Chapman's career.
Chapman scored 17 points, including 13 in the first half, in the Blazers' 53-49 win at SMU on Sunday. It marked her fifth double-digit performance of the season. The Calument City, Ill., native also had four steals in the contest and was 4-for-4 from the free throw line, helping UAB to its first program win in Dallas, Texas.
Against Marshall last Thursday, Chapman scored 13 points and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds. She also chipped in a pair of steals.
Chapman and the Blazers return to the hardwood on Thursday, hosting the UCF Knights. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Bartow Arena.
