WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Garrett Stutz scored a season-high 17 points to lead Wichita State past UAB 68-46 on Friday night.

UAB was led by Cameron Moore's 18 points and nine rebounds, both game highs.
"Wichita State played like a desperate team and it showed," UAB head coach Mike Davis said. "Our guards struggled all night. We need to shake this loss off because we have another game on Sunday and it we can't afford to bring this loss into Sunday's game."
UAB took a 21-20 lead late in the first half after slam dunks from Jekore Tyler and Moore. But the Blazers scored just one point in the half's final four minutes, helping the Shockers secure a 29-22 halftime lead.
After four straight points by Moore early in the second half, Wichita State took control with an 11-2 run.
