Carolyn Polcari Named UAB Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Senior women’s soccer player Carolyn Polcari was selected as this week’s UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
Polcari has been named to the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll three times. She is majoring in psychology and maintains a 3.59 overall GPA.
The midfielder tallied two assists last Sunday in the Blazers’ 3-2 double-overtime victory at East Carolina in the team’s season finale. She closed her senior campaign ranked first on the team in assists (4), second in points (10) and tied for second in goals (3).
The Richardson, Texas native was also named to the 2011 All-Conference USA Third Team, the league announced Tuesday. Polcari, who earned second-team all-conference honors in 2010, launched 28 shots in C-USA action, to rank in the top 10 in the league and finished her career with 185 shots, placing her fourth in UAB all-time history.
The Blazers finished the 2011 season with a 6-12-1 overall record and a 3-7-1 mark in Conference USA action.
