Preseason WNIT Consolation Brackets 
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB women's basketball team will play its consolation games in the Preseason WNIT next weekend at McNeese State in Lake Charles, La.
The consolation brackets were announced Saturday, and the Blazers are scheduled to meet East Tennessee State on Friday, Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m. CT in Lake Charles. The other Friday game at McNeese State features the host Cowgirls against Manhattan.
The winners and losers of Friday's contests will meet on Saturday, Nov. 19 in Lake Charles with game times scheduled for Noon and 2 p.m. CT.
UAB suffered a 65-59 loss in its first-round game at Chattanooga despite 16 points each from Amber Jones and Karisma Chapman.
East Tennessee State lost its opening-round game to Tennessee Tech by a score of 87-76, while McNeese State dropped a 67-59 decision to UCLA, and Manhattan lost to Hartford, 64-45.
The other Preseason WNIT consolation site is Akron, where the Zips will host Detroit, Drexel and Howard. The winners of the two consolation sites will not meet since next weekend's action fulfills the three-game guarantee for each team in the tournament.
