BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB head baseball coach Brian Shoop spoke last weekend at the 66th annual American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Convention in Nashville, Tenn.
The convention ran from Thursday through Sunday, and Shoop spoke on Saturday afternoon. The Blazers' fifth-year coach gave a presentation titled "Practice What You Believe."
Shoop, who owns more than 800 career victories, was part of a speaking lineup that featured some of the top coaches and clinicians in the country. Among the group of more than 30 speakers was current national champion coach Ray Tanner of South Carolina, Clemson coach Jack Leggett, College Baseball Hall of Famer Gary Ward and Colorado Rockies manager Jim Tracy.
Last weekend marked the third time Shoop has spoken at baseball's largest convention. The event was held at Nashville's Opryland Hotel with more than 3,500 coaches in attendance.
